Something you may not know about Feed More is that we accept donations of fresh produce!
Members from all over our community that have a garden will often drop off their extra fruits and vegetables at Feed More for our Community Kitchen team to incorporate into our recipes. We even have partnerships with local gardens like Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, Shalom Farms and Woodside Farms that bring us regular shipments of delicious fresh produce. The donated produce is also distributed through our Agency Network and comprehensive programs to your Central Virginia neighbors in need.
Our Bayard Community Kitchen produces over 3,500 meals each weekday for our Meals on Wheels and Children’s Programs. The staff in our kitchen love to cook made-from-scratch meals with a homemade feel using the freshest ingredients possible. From vegetable salads to corn salsa and veggie dippers, the produce donated to Feed More truly makes a difference in the lives of our recipients!
If you’re interested in donating some of your fresh produce to Feed More, please visit the Community Donation Drop-Off located in Building 2 on our Richmond campus. Our staff and volunteers will be sure it makes its way onto the plates of our neighbors in need!
If you would like to donate to Feed More in other ways, please consider hosting a food drive. The summer months in particular tend to be slower for us in food donations, so it is the perfect way to include your whole family, and help us stock up on our most needed items.
We are truly grateful to live in a community that continues to show its generosity and willingness to help our neighbors in need.
