Food is love is a philosophy that is brought to life each weekday by our Bayard Community Kitchen staff and volunteers.
“It brings everyone a lot of joy to cook and put meals on the tables of our neighbors in need,” shares Amory James, Director of Feed More’s Meals on Wheels and Community Kitchen, who has a Food is Love poster hanging in his office.
Have you ever wondered what delicious meals our chefs in the Community Kitchen are cooking up for our Meals on Wheels recipients?
Each month, Feed More’s Meals on Wheels nutritionist and staff put together a menu of delicious seasonal entrees and sides that are healthy and filled with the nutrients our recipients need to stay happy and healthy. By catering to several different diets like diabetes, vegetarian, pureed and more, Feed More is able to serve more people who need it in our service area.
“Every meal is made to help keep our recipients healthy but to also give them enjoyable meals they look forward to eating every day,” said Amory with a smile. “It’s part of what makes this program so special.”
Check out our menu for January! These tasty ingredients are inspired by home cooked meals. From chicken and dumplings to sweet potato salad, spinach soufflé, lasagna and creamy cole slaw, this month is packed with amazing dishes!
