What We're Looking For

We’re looking for: The MOW Lead Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Food Production Manager, or Assistant Kitchen Manager in their absence, with the supervision of Meal on Wheels production, production staff, and volunteers.  Responsible for covering multiple positions in Meals on Wheels food preparation as needed to ensure consistent production completion due to staff PTO and volunteer supervision in multiple locations. Assists FPM and AKM with maintaining timely production and exemplary sanitation standards.  Must possess exceptional people skills because of the unique nature of the work and the high volume of volunteers.

What You'll Do

  • Ensures follow through of daily Meals on Wheels cooking priorities and schedules.
  • Works closely with FPM and AKM to maintain proper sanitation schedule, enforces safety procedures and proper sanitation throughout the Meals on Wheels Production area.
  • Covers multiple positions as needed to ensure consistent coverage due to staff PTO and volunteer supervision.
  • Work closely with FPM to ensure that all recipes and appropriate adjustments are finalized for entry into computerized file.
  • Assist Meals on Wheels Production staff and volunteers in all phases of production, quality assurance, safety and sanitation techniques to meet scheduled production needs and industry regulations
  • Assists with training of Meals on Wheels production staff and volunteers
  • Assists with coordinating assignments of volunteers to specific work areas
  • Liaison between Meal Packaging Supervisor and Meals on Wheels Production
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and in-service training

 

 

Must Have

  • High School Diploma and at least five years of proven work experience in a commercial kitchen environment or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good math skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities
  • Ability to meet crises calmly, show attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, show initiative, flexibility, work in a team environment, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under deadlines
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
  • Proficient in MS Office: i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation
  • Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Must have flexible schedule to accommodate corporate needs, occasional night and/ or weekend work may be required

Ideally, Will Have

  • Five to seven years previous work in food preparation, food service or restaurants
  • Prior experience with non-profit organizations
  • Strong customer service expertise
  • Knowledge of food bank programs, an awareness of how specific functions relate to programs and the mission of food banks
  • Familiar with community feeding programs
