Feed More collects, prepares and distributes food to neighbors in need. With a service area that stretches across 34 cities and counties, our comprehensive programs and Agency Network are dedicated to providing our communities with access to quality food and healthy meals year round.

What We're Looking For

A leader who can foster relationships with employees, the community, and our partners to support and build a positive culture and ensure the execution of the Feed More vision and strategic plan. The CSCPO will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Operations, our Community Kitchen, Safety, Warehouse, Logistics, and Food Procurement and will be adept at execution through optimization of our supplier network, controlling costs, providing accurate forecasts for food distribution needs, managing inventory, supplier relationships and risk and safety to ensure delivery of comprehensive services and programs. The candidates must have a proven track record in warehouse operations, logistics and transportation, and can build and maintain working relationships with community resources, and local corporations, ensures compliance with all appropriate standards and all applicable local and national laws and regulations, and provide proactive and collaborative leadership to achieve our goals. The CSCPO serves as a member of the Feed More Leadership Team.

This dynamic professional must be skilled in relationship building and communications and must have a keen ability to listen, plan, and follow-up. Strong applicants will have demonstrated experience communicating with diverse audiences and utilizing data, systems, and technology to develop safe, efficient and effective operations.

What You'll Do

  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CSCPO will engage in interactive collaboration with other members of Senior Leadership Team and Board on a regular basis.
  • Actively shows leadership and creates a thriving, high-performing team that is inspired to continually improve and exceed goals.
  • Uses performance management and coaching skills to actively develop members of the Operations team by offering both positive recognition and development plans for those needing improvement.
  • Develops and implements sustainable strategies for Operations.
  • Instill the principles of project management and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings, general staff meetings, and cross-functional information meetings as needed.
  • Directs operations in the kitchen and warehouse, plus procurement, transportation, logistics and fleet management.
  • Maintains relationships and keeps Board and Finance Committee members informed on issues that impact or may impact the financial efficiency of Feed More.
  • Conducts Performance/Development Reviews for all direct reports and ensures their completion for all staff.
  • Maintains appropriate relationships with groups such as national, state, and civic organizations and/or other agencies.
  • Research best practices with other food banks and organizations to make recommendations on how to expand current programs, find new ways to reach and engage employees.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships inside Feed More.

Must Have

  • Commitment to the vision and mission of Feed More the ability to model the behaviors we expect of other employees at Feed More
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, plus 10-15 years of progressive operations experience, or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities
  • Experience in managing warehouse, distribution, supply chain and logistics activities
  • Ability to handle detail of specific duties while still developing and maintaining a broad perspective of corporate vision, goals, and accomplishments
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate staff, and build teams
  • Proven ability to make decisions, allocate resources and prioritize operational objectives
  • Familiarity with ERP or other inventory management systems
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to present complex information to staff, executive management, major donors/corporations, and the Board of Directors
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans
  • Ability to meet crises calmly and show initiative and flexibility in day-to-day operations, i.e., natural disasters, inclement weather, etc.
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify and manage critical mission metrics
  • Experience driving continuous process improvement initiatives, collaboration, and team development
  • Experience in formal project management, lean manufacturing, and/or six sigma
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities
  • Must have strong financial acumen and budget and expense management
  • Exceptional conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
