Hunger Action Month
September is Hunger Action Month, when the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks, including FeedMore, unites to urge individuals to take action in their communities. The goal of FeedMore’s Hunger Action Month is to mobilize all of Central Virginia to get involved with and shine a light on hunger-relief efforts in our community. In Central Virginia, nearly 200,000 of our neighbors struggle with hunger every day. Get involved and join us in the movement to end hunger in our community!
On Thursday, September 8th, we are encouraging everyone in Central Virginia to show their support for hunger relief by “Going Orange." From wearing an orange tie, dressing in orange from head-to-toe, hosting an orange potluck or joining the #GoOrange movement virtually on social networks, this seemingly insignificant act provides the opportunity for people across the community, and country, to unify and raise awareness about the seriousness of hunger. Whatever you decide, take photos of yourself going orange for hunger and share them with us, tagging FeedMore with #HungerActionMonth and #GoOrange.
