Feed More’s Steve and Sara Bayard Community Kitchen is where our highly-skilled team and dedicated volunteers prepare and cook nutritious meals for thousands of neighbors across Central Virginia. Every day, healthy meals are prepared for our Kids Cafe, Summer Kids Cafe and Meals on Wheels programs, along with several adult day programs facilities in our community.
Our homemade meals are far from the institutional approach that one might expect. Menus are planned monthly, based on the availability of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. And we have a secret ingredient. Every meal is made and packaged with love by our staff and compassionate volunteers.
Environmentally Conscious Design
The bright, bustling Community Kitchen is LEED-certified Silver, designated by the U.S Green Building Council. The “Green Building” is a high performance structure that maximizes environmental, economic and health benefits. The Community Kitchen addition was constructed with materials obtained within 500 miles and rated at low volatile organic levels. These features will help Feed More lower maintenance costs, save energy, increase productivity and remain good stewards of our environment.
