School Market Program
How Schools Fight Hunger
Our School Market program uses the safe environment of schools to distribute healthy food to students and their families. When a child or teen struggles with hunger, so does the family and our program works to fight hunger for the whole household.
These free, farmer’s market-style distributions are open to families who have a child attending the school where the distribution takes place. Our staff works closely with school administrators and community leaders, who help us distribute the food to students and their families.
This program currently has distributions at select elementary schools in the counties of Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Halifax and Mecklenburg, along with the cities of Hopewell and Petersburg. For more information our School Market program, please contact us.
