RICHMOND, Va. – Feed More and DoorDash’s Project DASH are breaking barriers to food access in the Richmond community, providing essential meals to those in need. To date, Feed More and Project DASH have delivered over 200,000 meals across nearly 70,000 meal deliveries.
Feed More and DoorDash started their partnership during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Feed More leveraging Project DASH to assist in healthy food deliveries for Richmond-area neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Crucially, this partnership now helps serve VCU Health System patients struggling with hunger who have no reliable means of transportation to access their nearest food pantry.
Through the collaboration between Feed More and Project DASH, DoorDash Dashers help ensure VCU Health patients who screen positive for food insecurity during their healthcare visit have access to nutritious food when they need it most. After identifying patients in need, healthcare providers connect them to the Feed More Help Line, where they can receive tailored food assistance, including home-delivered groceries through DoorDash for those who are unable to reach a food pantry. These groceries are delivered no differently than any order on DoorDash, offering dignity and convenience for the neighbors we serve.
Since 2019, Feed More has worked alongside VCU Health System to address the root causes behind diet-related diseases and connected over 3,500 patients with wholesome food for the healthy, well-rounded meals that they need to thrive.
Together, we’re breaking down barriers to food access and supporting healthier communities.
