We’re proud, and humbled, to work alongside caring corporate partners like Atlantic Union Bank!
As part of an intern exchange initiative to provide our next generation of leaders with unique cross-industry experiences, interns from Atlantic Union Bank and Feed More rolled up their sleeves, donned hairnets or hats, and worked alongside our volunteer team and staff to help package meal boxes for our Central Virginia neighbors in need! Together, this hardworking group helped us prepare 400+ meal boxes for our Meals on Wheels recipients and more.
“Health Equity is an integral component of supporting our communities as 20.3% of city residents experience food insecurity,” said Tishania Gist, Vice President, Manager of DEIB & Culture Engagement at Atlantic Union Bank. “Feed More’s mission to bring hunger relief directly to communities and neighbors aligns with Atlantic Union Bank’s core values, and further supports our commitment to financial, health and well-being equity in the communities we live in and serve.”
Feed More interns also visited Atlantic Union Bank’s headquarters in Glen Allen, where they met with members of the bank’s leadership team, including President and Chief Operating Officer Maria Tedesco, and discussed topics from community partnership to career growth and development. They enjoyed a networking lunch and engaged in team building activities to foster relationships and strengthen the important bond between non-profit agencies and their corporate partners.
“We’re grateful and humbled to have Atlantic Union Bank by our side as we help our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We know that prospective employees are looking to work for companies that are active in the community,” said Aaron McClung, Chief Development Officer at Feed More. “Atlantic Union Bank’s commitment to community and steadfast dedication to making a real, and tangible difference in Central Virginia means the world to us and the neighbors we help.”
Thank you to the Atlantic Union Bank team for joining us!
