Feed More Summer Food Service Program Greater Richmond VA SFSP free summer meals for kids

RICHMOND, Va. – Once again, Feed More’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) will offer free breakfast and lunch meals to children and teenagers in need throughout Greater Richmond this summer.

Designed to guarantee that our young neighbors continue receiving nourishing meals while school is out, Feed More’s SFSP delivers balanced, wholesome meals every weekday to children and teens, 18 years and under, without any cost.

“Our continued participation in the Summer Food Service Program allows us to provide thousands of healthy meals to children and teens across Greater Richmond and the Tri-Cities who don’t have reliable access to food when the school year ends,” said Allison Hallberg, Director of Health Strategy and Innovation at Feed More. “This program helps ensure our region’s kids and teens grow and develop with the nutrition they need to be successful when the next school year begins in the fall.”

Feed More’s Summer Food Service Program is a vital resource for kids and teens who experience food insecurity – in fact, last summer, Feed More provided 38,526 breakfasts and lunches to thousands of children at meal sites across our region.

SFSP meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at a first come, first serve basis at approved sites across Greater Richmond and the Tri-Cities.
