Feed More’s work centers on nourishing communities and empowering lives. But we know there are folks across our service area we just can’t reach. And that often, food insecurity is a symptom of larger challenges – especially for those experiencing chronic health conditions. Caring for a loved one, paying bills, and chipping away at mounting medical debt, all while ensuring there’s food on the table, can be an unsurmountable challenge for many.
That’s why we strategically partner with trusted community organizations like VCU Health and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Through these collaborations we connect patients and families who screen positive for food insecurity at their doctor’s visit with immediate food assistance. And because of our long-standing relationships with other nonprofits and government agencies, we’re also able to connect these neighbors with additional community resources for ongoing support.
Thanks to these partners, we can help families when they truly need it most.
“I can’t thank you enough for connecting me to Feed More, they have saved my life and my daughter’s life. Without the food that I get and the resources from them, I don’t know where we would be.”
“[Because of Feed More and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU] I was able to feed my children, and now I have SNAP… I just want my kids to eat, and thanks to you both, they can.”
“Everyone was very helpful and didn’t make me feel like I was less of a person because I struggle to keep my family fed.”
