Meals on Wheels through the SPAN Center
You May Be Eligible for Meals on Wheels
Thank you for taking the time to complete this screening. Based on your answers, it looks like you may be eligible for Meals on Wheels through our partner, the SPAN Center.
Feed More partners with the SPAN Center to support senior neighbors who need help getting nutritious meals. If you move forward, the SPAN Center would serve as your care coordinator, and Feed More would prepare and deliver your meals at no cost to you.
What to Expect Right Now
At this time, there is a waitlist for Meals on Wheels. Demand for the program is higher than the number of meals we are currently able to deliver, so everyone who applies is placed on a waitlist once their application is approved.
Even so, we strongly encourage you to apply. Applying is the only way to be added to the waitlist and to stay connected as space becomes available.
You can apply through the SPAN Center by:
-
Calling (804) 343-3000
-
Emailing questions@spancenter.org
-
Using this form and asking about Home Delivered Meal Services
Once your application is approved, you will be added to the waitlist. While we cannot predict how long the wait may be, the SPAN Center will check in with you every 60 days and remain a point of contact for support.
Support While You Wait
We know that needing meals now, and being told to wait, can feel discouraging. Please know that you are not alone, and help is available. We remain deeply committed to serving our current clients and building our capacity so that we can support more senior neighbors. While you are on the waitlist, the resources below may be able to provide food or other support right away. We encourage you to explore these options and use whatever feels most helpful for you today.
