About the Team: The Marketing team serves as the central storytelling, engagement, and activation engine for Feed More. It translates the organization’s mission, data, and impact into clear, compelling narratives that drive awareness, trust, and action across every channel and audience. The team leads integrated strategies that align campaigns, awareness moments, and revenue priorities into a cohesive narrative.
This includes stewardship of Feed More’s brand, voice, and promise to the Central Virginia community across all owned, earned, and paid channels. Every campaign, story, and message advances Feed More’s mission to nourish the Central Virginia community and empower lives.
What We're Looking For
A Chief Marketing and Branding Officer (CMBO) to influence the executive leadership, while serving as the strategic and visionary leader responsible for shaping and advancing Feed More’s marketing and communications. This role leads the development and execution of integrated, data-driven marketing strategies that elevate brand awareness, tell the story of our mission, and fuel revenue growth directly and indirectly. The CMBO partners closely with various functions to ensure alignment with the organization’s overall strategic objectives, while championing brand integrity, audience segmentation, experience, and organizational cohesion.
This position will have oversight into the planning and execution of promotions for direct-mail, email, digital, and other channels to ensure that a consistent, integrated message is delivered with each engagement to strengthen the Feed More brand.
The successful CMBO brings a balance of thought leadership, creativity, data fluency, cross-functional influence, and enterprise-wide accountability.

What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Partner with the executive team on organization-wide strategy and planning to influence decisions that contribute to the overall growth of Feed More
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, translating organizational goals into integrated marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to manage competing priorities and allocate resources to high-impact initiatives.
- Partner with the entire organization to integrate marketing strategy across all lines of business.
Integrated Marketing & Brand Stewardship
- Oversee development of comprehensive marketing plans, including paid/unpaid media, public relations, influencer engagement, digital strategies, and audience segmentation.
- Ensures efforts to strengthen the organization’s brand and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
Growth Marketing & Revenue Generation
- Drive revenue streams through direct response, digital, and other marketing platforms.
- Partners with the Chief Development Officer to build and execute marketing strategies that drive donor acquisition and retention.
Data, Analytics, and Insights
- Set the vision for how data and analytics inform decision-making across the organization, with a focus on driving measurable growth and operational effectiveness.
- Champions the adoption of dashboards and reporting tools that empower teams to understand performance and act in real time.
Performance, Budget, and Operational Oversight
- Define success metrics and ensure all marketing efforts are tied to measurable outcomes, including revenue and engagement goals.
- Oversee the marketing budget, allocating resources to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate performance, using insights to refine strategy and improve effectiveness.
Team Engagement and Collaboration
- Foster a culture reflective of our core values: respect, collaboration, and impact.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, fostering team success rooted in accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Must Have
- Passion for the mission of Feed More.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, communications, business, or related field.
- Approximately seven years of progressive responsibility in a senior role responsible for marketing, branding, and/or communications.
- Proven ability and success in leading a high-performing marketing and communications team in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in performance marketing, brand strategy, and analytics.
- Demonstrated leadership presence and ability to influence at the executive level.
- Exceptional skills in strategy, influence, analytics, communication, and storytelling.
- Strong skills in leading change and responding to shifts in the internal and/or external environment.
- Commitment to foster and support expansive diversity in the workplace and community.
- Energetic and engaged with strong interpersonal skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.
Ideally, Will Have
- Prior marketing leadership experience in nonprofit or purpose-driven sectors.
- Familiarity with Richmond communities and community resources.
- Experience in online user experience, online donation systems, and CRM systems.
