What We're Looking For

Are you creative, curious and eager to make an impact? Do you enjoy marketing and digital storytelling to connect younger audiences and inspire action? Feed More is looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern to help plan and conceptually develop a micro-campaign targeting young adults, while also contributing to ongoing marketing initiatives. In this role, you’ll research trends, craft compelling content and design a campaign from concept to launch – helping us amplify our mission and inspire the next generation to make a difference.

  • Monday through Friday

Work Location: In person

The Summer Internship Program will run from May 26 to August 7, 2026.

About the Role:

The intern will support the Marketing & Communications team through a mix of strategic and hands-on work. This internship will provide real-world experience through one primary project, supported by several smaller, ongoing initiatives and ride-along opportunities that contribute directly to the organization’s efforts.

What You'll Do

  1. Social Micro-Campaign Development – Paid and Earned (Primary Project)

Lead the conceptual development of a micro-campaign targeting young adults (post-high school to early 30s) and gain hands-on experience in research, strategy, creative development and planning.

Audience Research & Strategy:

  • Conduct research on trends, platforms and messaging that resonate with younger audiences.
  • Identify target subgroups and preferred channels.
  • Develop a time-bound campaign strategy and testing framework that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Explore optional tactics such as A/B testing, tracking engagement or integrating user-generated content, in planning or mock-up capacity.

Creative Development:

  • Brainstorm and design creative concepts, visuals and messaging tailored to younger demographics.
  • Draft sample social media posts, email copy and/or digital graphics.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to review and refine concepts, ensuring they complement ongoing initiatives.

 

Executional Planning & Timing:

  • Recommend primary and secondary channels, and define an appropriate content mix, posting frequency and timing based on audience behavior and platform best practices.
  • Plan a hypothetical budget for paid media, allocating resources to different channels to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for campaign goals and explain how data could guide improvements or future campaigns.
  • Build a sample content calendar and explore outreach strategies to media outlets, community partners and influencers to show how earned media could support and amplify the campaign.

Measurement & Reporting:

  • Define campaign performance metrics and outline how success will be measured.
  • Analyze and hypothesize expected outcomes based on research and comparable campaigns.
  • Create a framework for the campaign report that can include insights, lessons learned and recommendations.

2. Additional Marketing & Communications Support

Contribute to the ongoing marketing initiatives and participate in ride-along opportunities, including:

  • Chatbot management: Assist in updating, testing and maintaining chatbot to improve engagement and neighbor experience.
  • Digital asset management: Help organize digital library, improve metadata and tagging, and recommend older materials (photos, VHS tapes, etc.) for digitization.
  • In-field experience – media & content: Participate in facilitation of media interviews, photoshoots and other content creation opportunities to support storytelling, outreach and public relations efforts.
  • Low-touch website audit: Review website to evaluate usability, content and design. Recommend improvements and document findings to support future updates that enhance user experience. Gain hands-on experience applying AIEO principles to improve discoverability.
  • Social media audit & landscape assessment: Review channels, evaluate performance and recommend improvements. Research trends, media outlets and influencers. Learn how to apply AIEO principles to make the brand more discoverable in search.

Must Have

The right candidate for this job will be excited to learn about the food banking industry and seek to further expand their marketing knowledge. Ideally, this candidate will be flexible, resourceful and proactive with strong interpersonal and customer skills.

We’re also looking for someone who has:

  • Degree-in-progress in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or Digital Media
  • Creative and innovative mindset with experience in content creation, digital graphics and presentations (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with data to support analysis, research and marketing decision-making
  • Familiarity with online platforms, social media marketing and website content
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional and positive demeanor
  • Passionate about making an impact and excited to use marketing to connect with community and purpose-driven initiatives
