What We're Looking For
We’re in search of an enthusiastic, mission-driven, and hard-working individual to join our Programs team this summer. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, adaptable, and eager to learn how large-scale community food and resource systems operate. This individual should demonstrate critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and a team-oriented mindset.

What You'll Do
The Programs Intern will support Feed More’s four core program areas through project-based work focused on operations, data insights, and service improvement. This role is intentionally designed to be flexible and adaptive to support current organizational priorities.
This internship is best suited for students in public health, nonprofit management, public administration, data analytics, business, or related fields who are interested in systems-level work rather than direct service.
Program Operations & Insights
- Assist with mapping program workflows (intake, service delivery, referrals, follow-up).
- Support light data analysis related to service volumes, trends, and response times.
- Identify operational bottlenecks, duplications, or opportunities for efficiency.
- Prepare short summaries, presentations, or one-page briefs for program leadership.
- Analyze common inquiry types and referral pathways.
- Support development or refinement of tools such as FAQs, scripts, or quick-reference guides.
- Assist with reviewing and updating internal and external resource directories.
- Further develop Programs’ SharePoint folder and filing system.
Documentation & Knowledge Support
- Draft or update SOPs, process guides, and internal reference materials.
- Capture “how things actually work” documentation across evolving programs.
- Support consistency and clarity in program tools and materials.
Special Projects
- Participate in short-term projects aligned with organizational priorities.
- Conduct basic peer or best-practice research as assigned.
- Support pilot initiatives with background research and documentation.
Learning Opportunities
- Exposure to four core program areas: Meals on Wheels, Children’s Programs, Agency/Community Partner Relations, and Community Health & Resources.
- Understanding of how nonprofit food access and resource navigation systems operate at scale.
- Experience working with senior leadership on real operational and strategic projects.
- Development of professional skills in analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Note: This position does not include direct client service. The focus is on system support, analysis, and improvement.
Must Have
The right candidate will be excited to learn about hunger relief, community health, and nonprofit operations at scale. This individual should be flexible, resourceful, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
Candidates should be or have:
- Graduate student in public health, social work, nonprofit management, public policy, data analytics, business, or a related field.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working with data, documents, and process-oriented tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, positive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in an objective-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with spreadsheets, organizing data, and using basic analytical tools (Pivot Tables preferred but not required).
