What We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly talented and high-integrity CFO that is looking to make a difference in our mission-driven organization. The Chief Financial Officer provides both operational and programmatic support to the organization. The CFO supervises the Finance Department (led by an experienced Controller) and is the chief spokesperson for the organization on financial matters. The CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, managing, and controlling all finance–related activities. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, tracking cash flow, strategic planning and capital and expense budgeting. Serves as a member of the Feed More Senior Leadership Team.

Development and management of the departmental and the organization’s budget.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization. Ensure appropriate coaching, training, and development for staff
- Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization, including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet report,s and funding source reports as required
- Manage relationships with external financial auditors
- Ensure the timely submission of 990’s and any other mandated documents
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and any regulatory or contract issues
- Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard the financial assets of the organization
- Monitor all banking activities
- Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets
- Serve as a key advisor to our Purchasing Committee
- Oversee all Requests for Proposals and maintain all business contracts for Feed More while partnering with the appropriate owner of the work to be completed
- Serve as one of the trustees and oversee the administration and finance reporting of the organization’s 401(K) plan
- Attend Board of Directors and subcommittee meetings, serving as lead staff member on the Investment, Audit, and Finance Committees
- Responsible to the Board treasurer, Investment and Finance Committees for directing investments and expenditures according to the bylaws and approved mandates of the Board and its committees
- Partner with internal constituents to develop departmental budgets
- Oversee external vendor relations, including Feeding America, to ensure service levels are maintained, and partner with the Technology Director to ensure that disaster recovery plans and security plans are in place and up to date
- Recognize and identify areas where existing policies and procedures require change and/or where new policies/procedures should be developed, especially relative to growth and new initiatives
- Partner with the Development, Marketing, and Technology teams to modernize donor payment systems for ease and security
Must Have
- Passion for the Feed More mission!
- Four-year degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 6 or more years’ progressively responsible experience in finance and people management
- Demonstrated team player and collaborator
- Strong and empathetic relationship and partnering skills with all key stakeholders
- Integrity and compassion
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple and complex priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to meet crisis calmly and show initiative and flexibility in day-to-day operations
- Ability to flex the part-time schedule to accommodate important meetings or events
Ideally, Will Have
- CPA, CMA, or Master’s Degree in business administration, accounting, or related field
- Experience in not-for-profit accounting principles.
