What We're Looking For

Feed More Inc. seeks a full-time Driver CDL Class A to perform delivery duties as assigned, assisting the Distribution Center Manager as directed.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including refrigerated (reefer) trailers to transport food, supplies, and donations to and from Feed More facilities and partner agencies
  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service with agency partners and community organizations
  • Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and paperwork as required by Feed More and federal/state regulations
  • Assist in monitoring fuel levels in the vehicles and reefer units to ensure uninterrupted operations during routes and at the warehouse
  • Load, unload, and secure pallets or other food items using proper equipment and safe handling practices
  • Support Distribution Center operations by performing general cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance tasks; completing safety compliance requirements; and ensuring all cleaning logs, procedures, and training are completed on time
  • Serve as a backup for warehouse functions, including order selecting, unloading, receiving, and put-away, complete forklift pre-inspections and daily safety checks of assigned material handling equipment
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Must Have

  • High School Diploma and at least two years of work experience or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Class A Truck driving license.
  • Current VA Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Familiar with pallet jacks and other warehouse related equipment
  • Ability to become certified to operate forklift and other powered equipment.
  • Work experience in warehouse operations and inventory control
  • Familiar with the use of a computerized Warehouse Management System.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, good time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, flexibility
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities
  • Ability to meet crises calmly, show attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in various environments in the warehouse from general storage to coolers and freezers.
  • You must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • You must have a flexible schedule to accommodate agency needs.

Ideally, Will Have

  • 3 – 5 years of work experience in a distribution or warehouse environment
  • Strong customer service expertise
  • Food safety experience
  • Knowledge of Foodbank programs and the mission of Foodbanks
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
