Meals on Wheels Eligibility
Welcome! Meals on Wheels is designed to provide nutritious meals for neighbors who are homebound, unable to cook safely and/or are on a limited income. To find out if you are eligible for the program, please fill out the screening form below. It only takes 60-seconds to see if this program might be right for you or a loved one.
If it isn’t, we have kind folks available to help you find other resources that might be able to help.
And if you’re inquiring on behalf of a neighbor, please get their consent before applying. This process will require detailed information from them as well as a home visit.
Eligibility Details
- Reside in our service area (the cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Colonial Heights or Hopewell, or the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa, New Kent, Powhatan or Prince George).
- Be at least 60 years old.
- Be homebound (unable to leave the home without difficulty or assistance) and unable to meet basic nutritional needs (unable or have difficulty preparing at least one nutritious meal a day) either temporarily or long term.
- Have no other reliable means of obtaining your daily meals.
- Note: Other household members may be eligible including disabled children and minors for whom you provide primary care and spouses.
