What We're Looking For

The Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for maintaining an accurate physical inventory for Feed More.  This position conducts weekly and daily cycle counts, reconciling with the total in Feed More’s inventory database and reports any variances.  Responsibilities include oversight of off-site inventory reconciliation, audit of outbound orders, and open slot management.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts as assigned
  • Perform research; both physical and systematic, to resolve variances
  • Provide technical support to Inventory Control during scheduled audits (internal and external, quarterly and annual)
  • Become proficient with all active functions of Handheld Automated Data Capture System (ADCS)
  • Become proficient in Feed More’s Warehouse Management System (CERES)
  • Review and verify daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports
  • Review delivered order documentation and check against invoices for discrepancies
  • Demonstrate ability to operate all powered equipment with proficiency (i.e. forklifts, pallet jacks etc.)
  • Ensure that all returns are physically relocated to correct pallet/location
  • Verify the accuracy of picked orders daily
  • Provide input and suggestions to operational processes that reduce variances
  • Assist with inventory-related issue resolution at receiving, with order selection, and shipping when assigned
  • Verify all waste-related adjustments working in conjunction with the QA team; maintain relationships/communications with pig farmers and compost partners.
  • Daily Quality and Expiration-Date checks.
  • Daily & Weekly Sanitation Logs.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Must Have

  • High School Diploma and at least three years of work experience or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Strong math and logical reasoning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and methodical when completing assigned tasks
  • Ability to exercise foresight and sound judgment
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences and personalities
  • Proficient in MS Office: i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to meet crises calmly, solve problems, show attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, show initiative, flexibility, and meet assigned deadlines
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must have flexible schedule to accommodate program needs

 

Ideally, Will Have

  • Associate’s Degree, prior experience with inventory control practices in a distribution center setting
  • Food safety experience
  • Strong customer service expertise
  • Knowledge of Food Bank programs and the mission of Food Banks
