Thanksgiving is an extra special time of year at Feed More. From an abundance of food drives and requests to give back to generous gifts from our corporate and community partners, Feed More experiences an extraordinary outpouring of support that allows us to help even more neighbors in their times of need.
In order to accommodate the uptick in donations leading up to and through the holidays, Feed More’s Community Donation Door is ready to receive nonperishable donations from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20 and from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21.
Located at Door #13 in Building 2 at 8020 Villa Park Drive, Richmond VA 23228, The Community Donation Door is staffed by Feed More employees and volunteers who can help unload donations, bring the nonperishable food items inside to get weighed and provide donors with a receipt. We anticipate increased donations throughout the holiday season and encourage food donors to drop off their food during the afternoon hours to avoid longer wait times. The community can also conveniently drop off nonperishable donations any time in Feed More’s bright orange donation bins located in near the main entrance and in the parking lot of 8020 Villa Park Drive, Richmond VA 23228.
Feed More is also excited to share that Kroger Mid-Atlantic will be making the week of Thanksgiving extra special for seniors and homebound neighbors in Feed More’s Meals on Wheels program, along with the volunteer drivers who deliver the meals. For the fourth year, Thanksgiving Fueled by Kroger has donated the full cost of meal for Feed More’s more than 800 Meals on Wheels recipients for the week of Thanksgiving. Additionally, to offset the cost of fuel and show thanks for their generosity, Feed More’s Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers during the week of Thanksgiving will receive a Kroger gift card.
At Feed More, we get to experience the joy of the holiday season in ways many simply can’t imagine. To learn more about how you can join us to share in this joy and make a difference in the communities we serve, please explore feedmore.org.
