The holiday season is officially underway and we just can’t get enough! December is full of amazing events for the whole community to enjoy and get into the spirit and joy of giving back to help Feed More in our hunger-fighting efforts!
Head over to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden where they and Kroger have teamed up to support Feed More with a food drive at this year’s Dominion Energy Gardenfest of Lights! Bring your canned food or nonperishable food through January 6!
EAT Restaurant Partners along with this year’s Richmond Christmas Mother, April Niamtu are teaming up to help fight hunger in central Virginia through December 31. Every EAT concept will offer a check ROUND UP option for guests to donate to Feed More, as well as food collection boxes for nonperishable items.
Once again our friends at Subaru are hosting their annual Share the Love Event and Feed More is thrilled to be the hometown charity for CMA’s Colonial Subaru! From now until January 2, 2020 Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru leased or bought to the Meals on Wheels network, helping homebound seniors in need.
West Broad Village is hosting their annual tree lighting on Saturday, December 7! Don’t miss this fun family event with special performances and a DIY s’mores station. Kick off the holiday season by bringing an item from our Most Needed Items list!
If you’re not able to make it out to an event this month but are still interested in helping, please consider using our Reverse Advent Calendar! For each of the 24 days during the month of December, place the nonperishable food item listed on the calendar in a box. Feel free to use any box you have handy and decorate it to get in the holiday spirit. Once you’ve finished collecting your items, please drop your box off at Feed More from December 26- 31 or January 2-3. Your donation will help neighbors in need throughout the tough winter season.
Be sure to continue looking at Feed More’s events page for updates and added events each month!
Hunger is a year round issue and with your support, we’re able to provide families in need with a hand up all year long.
