Join the fight against huger with Scouting for Food!

10/26/2018

Now in its 31st year, Scouting for Food is one of Feed More’s annual food drives coordinated by our friends at the Heart of Virginia Council for the Boy Scouts.

Boy Scouts will set out beginning on Saturday, October 27 (weather permitting!) to distribute thousands of brown paper bags – courtesy of Kroger – to neighborhoods across our service area. Families can fill the bag up with donations from our most needed items list, and set them out to be collected the following Saturday, November 3. All donations will be brought to Feed More where there will be sorted and distributed through our programs and network of nearly 300 agencies to help our neighbors in need.

If you would like to donate to Scouting for Food but do not receive a bag, you can drop off your items at a Kroger within our service area. Kroger stores across our region will have a Feed More donation bin set out for you to drop off your Scouting for Food donations. If you do receive a bag but it does not get picked up on Saturday, November 3, please also take it to your nearest Kroger store or call (804) 204-2642.

We continue to be amazed by the generosity of our community and our community partners like the Boy Scouts and Kroger. The 2017 Scouting for Food brought in more than 128,000 pounds of donations and with your support, we know this year’s food drive will be the best one yet!
