RICHMOND, Va. – FeedMore was awarded $25,000 from the Nationwide Foundation to support its hunger-relief efforts in Central Virginia. In FeedMore’s service area, which spans across 34 counties and cities, nearly 200,000 children, families and seniors struggle with hunger.

“We are able to continue to do the work we do because of the support of wonderful organizations like Nationwide,” said Doug Pick, Chief Executive Officer at FeedMore. “This grant will help us continue to positively impact our neighbors in need by distributing healthy meals through our programs and network of more than 300 partner agencies.”

This grant is part of a $1.5 million gift to Feeding America that will help provide more healthy foods to people in need. With this donation, the Nationwide Foundation is investing in 22 food banks, including FeedMore, and supporting national produce sourcing efforts to help ensure safe and efficient produce delivery to food banks and their partner agencies.

FeedMore provides nearly 51,000 meals each day through its programs and network of partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child and adult day cares and other community organizations. With programs like the Summer Food Service Program, Mobile Pantry and Commodity Supplemental Food Program focused on feeding children, feeding families and feeding seniors, FeedMore is dedicated to providing the region’s most vulnerable populations with one of the most basic necessities: nourishment.

“We’re committed to addressing the most critical needs in the communities where we live and work. Often those needs are the most basic ones, like ensuring that everyone in the community has enough food to live a healthy, productive life,” said Chad Jester, president of the Nationwide Foundation. “That’s why we are proud to partner with FeedMore.”
