Perdue Farms has made it possible for Feed More to roll out a new refrigerated tractor-trailer to support its distribution of food within the 34 cities and counties it serves.

Thanks to generous grants from the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation and Sentara Healthcare & Optima Health, Feed More and VCU Health are working together to learn more about the social determinants of health – the situational and environmental factors that people grow up with, work and live in – and how those factors influence hunger.

Over the last two years, Feed More’s School Market program has grown to include 11 schools in our service area that serve between 50-130 families at each distribution.

The 2019 Richmond Christmas Mother April Niamtu joined Feed More to spread some holiday cheer at one of our Mobile Pantry distributions!

The Feed More South Hill Branch will serve as a distribution center supporting agencies and programs in our southern region, including the counties of Brunswick, Charlotte, Greensville, Halifax, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg and the city of Emporia.

Feed More distributes nearly 30 million pounds of food each year, with a big portion of that being the deliveries our trucks make throughout Central Virginia. In one month alone, our fleet can deliver over 375,000 pounds of food to our network of nearly 300 agencies.
