‘Twas the Week Before Christmas, When All Through FeedMore…

December 18, 2015

There is a certain kind of magic that happens during the holidays. Lights are strung, homes are decorated, families gather to celebrate the season and the spirit of giving comes alive. For FeedMore, we experience the joy of the holiday season in ways many simply can’t imagine, as we receive an array of gifts to support those in our community who need it most.

“During the holidays, we experience an extraordinary outpouring of support that allows us to feed more of our neighbors in need,” said Doug Pick, Chief Executive Officer at FeedMore. “From the giving of time, a food donation or a financial gift, we continue to be impressed, and humbled, by our community’s commitment to our mission.”

And with Christmas just a short week away, FeedMore invites you to experience the holiday season that we know and love. Starting Monday, FeedMore will be celebrating a week filled to the brim with do gooders, impact makers and heartwarming stories. Each morning on the week of Christmas, you’ll get specific locations, times and details of a very special event of the day, allowing you to experience the holiday season from FeedMore’s perspective and see its programs in action throughout our community.

Here’s a sneak peak:

 Monday, December 21: Austin Smoyer, a six-year-old from Chesterfield will be pulling his red wagons up to FeedMore to drop off the donations he collected from his third annual food drive. Featured on the Rachel Ray Show last week, his mom describes him as “a man on a mission to feed the region’s hungry.”

 Tuesday, December 22: 2015 Richmond Christmas Mother Katherine Wintsch will be lending a helping hand at a Mobile Pantry distribution. FeedMore’s Mobile Pantry is committed to providing individuals who live in food deserts with well-balanced meals. With a very special grant from the Richmond Christmas Mother fund, we will be providing these folks with a special holiday meal.

 Wednesday, December 23: Kroger will be making a special holiday donation at a local Kids Cafe site that will help children and families throughout our community.

 Thursday, December 24: We’re still open for business and accepting donations, so come check out what goes on behind the scenes at FeedMore before the holidays. It’s one of the busiest times of the year for us!

We encourage you to come see what the #FeedMoreHoliday season is all about. Don’t forget to check your inbox each morning next week for times, locations and details!
