8th Annual Legal Food Frenzy

03/31/2014 - 04/11/2014

It is almost time for the 8th Annual Statewide Legal Food Frenzy! Over the past seven years, this event has developed into a tremendously successful and beneficial program feeding millions of hungry neighbors across the Commonwealth. Last year, Virginia’s legal community raised 1.5 million pounds of food in converted monetary and food donations, bringing our seven-year total to over 10 million pounds of food!

This year’s event, once again sponsored by the Virginia Bar Association and the Office of Attorney General, Mark Herring, takes place March 31 through April 11, and benefits the seven regional food banks and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks.

Almost one million Virginians are considered “food-insecure,” which means they are unsure of the source of their next meal. Food banks desperately need your help to assist these Virginians, as demand remains at historically high levels while donations to food banks have decreased. Additionally, food banks are experiencing price increases in much of the food they have to purchase.

The Legal Food Frenzy provides lawyers and their staff an opportunity to make a big difference by helping neighbors who are struggling to feed themselves and their children. You can be assured that the food and funds raised through the Legal Food Frenzy go a long way, as Virginia’s food banks are some of the most cost-efficient organizations in the country. Of course, as always, you are also competing for the prestigious and highly coveted Attorney General’s Cup.

If you have not already done so, please register your firm, legal department or law school to participate in the 8th Annual Statewide Legal Food Frenzy by visiting the official site at We are challenging YOU to join your colleagues in this humanitarian effort and make the 8th Annual Statewide Legal Food Frenzy the most successful event yet!
