What We're Looking For

A full–time management employee that maintains our physical inventory in an accurate manner by providing a robust cycle counting program.  Must provide and maintain inventory data maintenance and entry in our Warehouse Management System (Ceres) and provide periodic reconciliation reports in addition to problem solving and continual improvement resolutions.

Must be able to establish and maintain excellent relationships and on-going communication within Feed More, Feeding America, and with appropriate operational groups. Ability to train and on-board new hires on Ceres inventory control functions (cycle counting, adjustments, etc.) and support management with inventory research resources and on-going support to maximize inventory accuracy and the effectiveness of the inventory management system.

What You'll Do

  • Supports Directors, and Managers by generating on-demand and monthly inventory and Jet reports to provide meaningful data for tracking inventory related metrics.
  • Perform and schedule weekly cycle counts, periodic audits, and annual physical inventories (if necessary) to ensure our inventory levels are being properly maintained and accuracy of our bin locations.
  • Supervise Quality/Inventory Control employee and assist with identifying unsalable products and coordinating food waste removal (Pig Farmer, trash, etc.).
  • Act as lead report designer for inventory related Jet Reports for data in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV(Ceres) system. Work with internal and Feeding America providers to report system and/or inventory related issues or discrepancies.
  • Monitor existing inventory daily, analyze and resolve problems timely to ensure high-quality and accurate inventory levels, and facilitate new functionality or reports on Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Ceres) systems, when necessary.
  • Provide inventory expertise to the organization and serve as subject matter expert for system inventory management.
  • Identify, develop, coordinate, and maintain inventory control processes\procedures relevant to operations; identify key controls within these processes\procedures and recommend improvement activities as necessary; document process and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate, support, and partner on cross-functional teams to improve efforts to analyze system and operational processes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify, develop, and administer physical inventory and other inventory related training and educational opportunities.
  • Learn and seek to understand other relevant systems at Feed More that may impact inventory levels in Ceres (Agency Express, etc.).
  • Engage other Food Banks and Feeding America members to share knowledge and best practices on a continuous basis.
  • Participate, track, and analyze impacts of system upgrades and feature enhancements to ensure no negative impacts to our operations.
  • Document and approve changes as the Process Owner for all inventory related processes and SOP’s.
  • Travel to satellite facility location(s) to ensure accuracy of inventory levels.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Inventory or supply chain management or related experience or combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, Microsoft Dynamics NAV(Ceres) software a plus
  • Ability to learn independently and become a subject matter expert
  • 2-3 years inventory management and database reporting experience a plus
  • Jet Reports report writing experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • 2-3 years previous physical inventory experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Desire and heart to support our mission

 

Physical Requirements & Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to indoor walk-in refrigerators and coolers – extremely cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, standing use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to operate or willing to be trained to operate a sit-down forklift, order selector and/or scissor lift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
