The Development Associate plays a vital role in cultivating donor relationships, supporting team initiatives, and ensuring efficient stewardship efforts. This position focuses on strengthening donor engagement and fostering collaboration to advance the organization’s fundraising goals.

What You'll Do
- Donor Relationships and Stewardship:
- Build and strengthen relationships with individual donors by providing personalized stewardship, including thank-you calls, impact updates, and tailored recognition.
- Support donor cultivation efforts by scheduling and preparing materials for donor meetings and outreach.
- Develop stewardship materials such as leadership donor newsletters and emails, program updates, and event follow-ups in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Team Collaboration:
- Assist Development Team with stewardship activities, meeting preparation, and donor research and cultivation efforts
- Serve as a backup for the Development Assistant to ensure timely gift entry, acknowledgements, and reporting
- Work with the marketing team to align donor communications with broader organizational messaging and campaigns.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for the development team, including managing meeting schedules, preparing agendas, and tracking action items and other administrative tasks.
- Coordinate with the volunteer team to deepen and broaden volunteer efforts for the Development department including large group activities and a summer intern
- Support for Fundraising Events:
- Assist in planning and executing donor engagement events, including appreciation events, small receptions, and on-site visits.
- Manage event-related tasks such as coordinating logistics and RSVPs, preparing donor profiles, and ensuring donor recognition at events.
- Coordinate with the volunteer team to deepen and broaden volunteer efforts for the Development department including large group activities and a summer intern
- General Duties
- Collaborate with all Feed More staff to help build collegial working relationships among all who work, volunteer, and receive services from the organization
- Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with colleagues within Development and throughout Feed More
- Exhibit Feed More’s values of Stewardship, Passion, Respect, and Well-being in all aspects of the incumbent’s activity
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Must Have
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of 2 years prior work experience, preferably in nonprofit development or marketing, or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Experience with Blackbaud’s RENXT is preferred
- Strong customer service experience
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Data analysis skills are preferred
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, strong problem-solving skills
- Strong collaborator
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, show initiative, flexibility, work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under deadlines
Ideally, Will Have
- Experience in non-profit organizations.
- Proficiency in networking and relationship building.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
