What We're Looking For

The Corporate Giving Manager is focused on introducing and securing new relationships in addition to maintaining and creating strategy to grow existing relationships to grow unrestricted and program specific revenue critical to supporting our mission. The ideal candidate has experience taking a strategic and integrated approach to nurturing deep relationships with funders as partners and works collaboratively with fellow team members to achieve this goal. This fundraising role has a strong component of networking and personal touch points for holistic donor stewardship.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to build upon and grow a business donor and sponsorship program for Feed More. Additionally, this role will work closely with associations, faith, and civic groups seeking to support Feed More. The Manager reports to the Chief Development Officer and will interact with other members of the Development team, the Marketing and Volunteer teams for regular communications and special projects.

What You'll Do

  • Develop annual fundraising strategies to meet ambitious fundraising goals for unrestricted gifts and grants as well as program specific sponsorships.
  • Cultivate, steward, and expand a portfolio of corporate partnerships (five-and six-figure gifts).
  • Collaborate with corporate/business donors and design and manage an innovative sponsorship benefits package and marketing materials that reflect current trends and best practices in the field.
  • Create pitches, write proposals and lead meetings for new and existing corporate/business partners and sponsors.
  • Attend regional business networking events (Chamber RVA, Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, Southern VA Chamber, Metropolitan Business League, etc.) to meet potential corporate/business prospects and develop strong relationships with key decision makers.
  • Attend regional business and civic association gatherings.
  • Solicit and steward communities of faith in support of Feed More’s mission.
  • Proactively respond to inquiries and requests regarding sponsorship opportunities.
  • Facilitate corporate donor and prospect site visits.
  • Act as a lead staff member on annual check-ins with corporate partners.
  • Coordinate with Marketing team donor acknowledgment as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Team when a partner wants to engage in volunteering programs or create special events opportunities.
  • Negotiate corporate partnerships or sponsorships to ensure mutually beneficial value and alignment with Feed More’s mission.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in a business environment.
  • A proven track record in sales or non-profit development or fundraising.
  • Passion for the mission, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
  • Deadline and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to make face-to-face solicitation calls and provide stellar follow-up.
  • This strategically and must be capable of execution and hitting goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of methods, practices and procedures for obtaining information about the giving programs of corporations and foundations.
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospective business donors, and interact in person, via Zoom or other online medium, and telephonically with institutional representatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • Curious about business and markets.
  • Ability to make presentations to public groups.
  • Familiarity with use of a fundraising database.
  • Proficient with general office software and the ability to learn new tools.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must have own automobile and be prepared to use it on the job.
  • Ability to meet crises calmly and show initiative and flexibility in day-to-day operations.
  • A sense of humor is a plus.

Ideally, Will Have

  • Experience in non-profit organizations.
  • Proficiency in networking and relationship building.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
