What We're Looking For
The Accountant position will perform a variety of accounting duties related to the Accounting Department including the accounts’ payable function. This role is responsible for fixed assets processing, account reconciliations and providing general administrative and organizational support to the Accounting Department.

What You'll Do
- Perform all duties associated with the Accounts payable process
- Perform all aspects of accounting for fixed assets including additions, disposals, reconciliations and roll forwards
- Make journal entries and do account reconciliations including identification and remediation of all issues in compliance with control requirements
- Maintain petty cash including reimbursements and reconciling receipts
- Participate in internal and external audit processes
- Serve as back up for other department functions
- Work closely with all functional areas to resolve issues and support achievement of business goals
- Provide organizational support to department members as needed
- Maintain a high level of good stewardship
- Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Coordinate Feeding America Network Activity Report from start to finish
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned by your supervisor

Must Have
- High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 – 3 years of proven accounting experience in a business environment processing cash receipts and handling other accounting functions or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Customer service experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as good time management skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to meet crises calmly, solve problems, show attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional and mature manner, with strong diplomatic interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling confidential client information in a professional manner.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, show initiative, flexibility, work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under deadlines
- Ability to take ownership of an entire process, ability to take pride in administrative work
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds
- Must have own automobile and be prepared to use it on the job
- Must have flexible schedule to accommodate corporate needs
Ideally, Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or another financial field
- 3 – 5 years of proven accounting experience in a business environment processing cash receipts and handling other accounting functions
- Strong customer service expertise
- Familiar with the community and its resources
- Knowledge of Feed More programs and/or awareness of food banks and their work in the community.
- Prior experience with non-profit organization
