Children's Programs

Summer Food Service program

With thousands of kids and teens receiving free or reduced lunch, when school ends, so do these vital programs. And their impact can be felt across our community. However, there are places children can turn to during the hungry days of summer.

FeedMore’s Summer Food Service Program is a major effort to ensure that thousands of children and teens at risk of hunger receive healthy and reliable breakfast and lunch meals, free of charge, during these critical weeks. In fiscal year 2017, we provided 127,722 free breakfast and lunch meals to kids and teens at 60 sites across our region through this program. Our Summer Food Service Program is open to children and teens 18 years and younger.

If your organization is interested in becoming a FeedMore Summer Food Service Program site, please complete this application and return it to our Children's Program Manager Ruth Ann Caplice at For any questions regarding this program or the application, please call 804-521-3284.

Please check back in June, 2018 for updated information on locations for the coming summer.

Additionally, please feel free to contact our Hunger Hotline at (804) 521-2500 for more information or if you, your family or someone you know is in need of emergency food assistance.
