Children’s Programs

Our Children's Nutrition Programs are dedicated to providing children and teens at risk of hunger with the nourishment they need to learn, grow and most importantly, thrive.

Our Kids Cafe program provides a hot, healthy supper meal and/or snack to school children who attend afterschool programs at community centers, daycares, schools and other organizations.

Created to help ensure that kids and teens of low-income households continue to receive meals during the summer when school is not in session, our Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) offers free breakfast and lunch meals at more than 50 summer program sites across greater Richmond that serve thousands of local children and teens in need.

And our BackPack program gives children who face hunger a bag filled with six healthy, child-friendly, nonperishable meals to ensure they have food on weekends and over school breaks, so they can return to school nourished and ready to learn.
