On the Road to End Hunger

Our Meals on Wheels program serving homebound seniors and disabled neighbors and our Children’s programs rely on our dedicated volunteer drivers who take individually prepared, labeled box meals, BackPacks and snacks directly to our neighbors in need. Position: Volunteer Driver   

Supervisor: Volunteer Program Coordinator

Work Location:  TBD based on assignment (may vary, but in greater Richmond metro region)

Age requirement: At least 18 years of age

Time Commitment: Minimum of 50 hours annually

Shift availability: Monday – Friday

Project Summary: Volunteers utilize personal vehicle to help Feed More deliver meals to homebound individuals and children-serving agencies throughout greater Richmond metro region.

Major Tasks:  

Pick-up food product from designated area and deliver to assigned clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Load, transport and deliver food and other products to clients in a safe manner
  • Ensure accuracy of delivery items
  • Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Follow policies and procedures as defined by Feed More
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Background Check
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Reliable, personal automobile
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Must follow food safety regulations
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to lift at least 20 pounds
  • Able to drive in adverse weather conditions
  • Must have personal cell phone with active service plan
  • Comfortable utilizing navigational technologies
  • Successfully pass all required trainings
