Feed More’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) will once again be providing free breakfast and lunch meals to thousands of children and teens this summer across greater Richmond. Created to ensure that kids and teens continue to receive meals during the summer when school is not in session, Feed More’s SFSP provides well-balanced meals each weekday to children and teens,18 years and younger, free of charge.
“Our continued participation in the Summer Food Service Program allows us to provide thousands of healthy meals to children and teens who struggle with hunger,” said Ruth Ann Caplice, Children’s Program Manager at Feed More. “This program helps ensure our region’s kids and teens grow and develop with the nutrition they need to be successful when the next school year begins in the fall.”
SFSP meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis at approved sites across greater Richmond and the Tri-Cities. Last summer, Feed More provided more than 123,000 breakfast and lunch meals to thousands of kids and teens at meal sites across the region.
