Scouting for Food

This year marks the 30th year of Scouting for Food and FeedMore is excited to continue this partnership with the Heart of Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The Scouting for Food drive is the largest community food drive that FeedMore is a part of and your support has a significant impact on our hungry neighbors in need.

We are also pleased to have TowneBank as a presenting sponsor of this year's drive, with additional funding provided by Food Lion. Below please find some key dates and information to keep in mind:

Saturday, October 28 • Your Neighborhood

Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Venture Scouts in Central Virginia will take to the streets to deliver brown paper bags to neighborhoods across our region. Residents are encouraged to fill the bags with nonperishable, shelf-stable items to donate to FeedMore. Individuals who do not receive a bag, but wish to participate in the drive, are encouraged to drop off their donated items at any TowneBank branch, FeedMore or any Midas of Richmond location.

Saturday, November 4 • Your Front Door

Please place your bag outside your front door by 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 4 for pick up by the Heart of Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Your donations will be distributed through FeedMore's network of more 300 partner agencies and to neighbors in need across 34 cities and counties in Central Virginia. If your bag is not picked up by 2 p.m. on November 4, please drop off your donation at your nearest TowneBank branch, FeedMore, any Midas of Richmond location or call (804) 204-2642.
