RICHMOND, Va. – FeedMore’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) will once again be providing free breakfast and lunch meals to thousands of children this summer across greater Richmond. Created to ensure that children of low-income households continue to receive meals during the summer when school is not in session, FeedMore’s SFSP provides well-balanced meals during the week to children 18 and under.
“Our continued participation in the Summer Food Service Program allows us to provide thousands of healthy meals to at-risk children,” said Margaret Woods, Senior Director of Programs at FeedMore. “This program helps ensure our region’s children grow and develop with the nutrition they need to be successful when the next school year begins in the fall.”
The SFSP meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children. Last summer, FeedMore provided over 135,864 breakfast and lunch meals to more than 3,000 children.
