This month at Feed More: November 2018

11/01/2018

There may be a chill in the air, but the events happening all across our community are heating up. November is full of great opportunities for you and your family to have fun and give back to Feed More!

Did you receive a brown paper bag from your local Boy Scout troop? Scouting for Food is in full swing, so please fill your bag up with nonperishable food you’d like to donate and the scouts will return on Saturday, November 3 to collect them! If you didn’t receive a bag but would like to donate, please drop your donations off in a Feed More bin at your local Kroger.

Mustaches 4 Kids (M4K Richmond) returns this year to help improve the lives of local children by having a little bit of fun with facial hair! Every November, hundreds of men across the greater Richmond community embark on a month-long journey fondly known as “The Growing Season.” Donations from M4K Richmond go to children’s organizations across our area, including Feed More.

Feed Richmond is back for another fantastic year! This annual campaign by Summit Media’s K95, 103.7 Play and Classic Rock 96.5 radio stations will be held from Thursday, November 15 – Saturday, November 17. Radio stations will be broadcasting live at select Kroger stores to collect food and funds to benefit Feed More. For information about locations, click here.

Calling all runners! Thanksgiving Day will be about more than just turkey with both the Wegman’s 10K and the Salisbury Presbyterian Church Turkey Waddle 5k. Wegman runners and volunteers are encouraged to bring a jar of peanut butter and/or can of tuna that will be donated to Feed More, while all proceeds from the Salisbury Turkey Waddle will come straight to our hunger-fighting efforts.

Exciting news! Feed More and Chop Chop RVA , a local meal delivery service, are partnering through the end of 2018. When placing a delivery order for $15 or more, simply use enter the coupon code feedmore and Chop Chop will donate $1 to help us fight hunger in our communities!

If you’re not able to make it out to an event this month but are still interested in helping, please consider becoming a Community Champion by hosting an online fundraiser!

You can also organize a food drive and collect some of our most needed items to help our neighbors in need. Head on over to our Food Drive page to learn more and check out our toolkit that will help you spread the word!

Hunger is a year round issue and with your support, we’re able to provide families in need with a hand up all year long.
