It is officially 2020, and with this new year, and decade (!!!), comes 365 new chances to give back to Feed More and help the more than 193,000 neighbors in Central Virginia that are struggling with hunger every day.
From volunteering to philanthropic gifts and food drives, it’s easy to get involved and help your community.
Our volunteers are the backbone of Feed More and a big reason we are able to carry out our mission. Each weekday nearly 200 dedicated individuals walk Feed More’s halls working in every facet of the organization. From chopping vegetables and packaging Meals on Wheels meals in the Community Kitchen to sorting food donations, packing bags for our weekend Backpack program, answering phones for the Hunger Hotline and so much more. If you’re interested in making a gift to Feed More, the impact of your donation will be felt far and wide throughout our service area and in the lives of the people we serve. With every dollar donated to our hunger-fighting efforts, we can provide four meals to a neighbor in need- that’s incredible! Food drives and donations are a pillar of Feed More and a really fun way to get involved! Nothing makes us smile more than a group of schoolchildren walking up to our doors, arms loaded with food to donate and seeing, and feeling, the excitement on their faces when they hear how many people they’ve helped feed. We are fortunate to receive food from all kinds of folks around the community, from churches to local businesses, schools, Boys and Girl Scouts and individuals who just felt like giving back what they could.
