On Tuesday, May 22 the newest addition to FeedMore’s distribution fleet will bring healthy food for wholesome meals to more than 200 families who live in Richmond. Donated by Kroger Mid-Atlantic, the truck will allow FeedMore to deliver more fresh food to underserved communities and neighborhoods with limited access to grocery stores across Central Virginia.
Food Lion Feeds will partner with FeedMore and the National Association of Letter Carriers to help jump-start the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive by donating nearly 23,000 meals in celebration of the start of the campaign.
RICHMOND, Va. – FeedMore will hold their annual gala Zest Fest on Saturday, February 24 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. All proceeds from Zest Fest will help neighbors across Central Virginia who struggle with hunger.
Richmond Christmas Mother Awards FeedMore $25,000 Grant to Provide Special Holiday Meals to Families
The Richmond Christmas Mother Fund announced that it has awarded a $25,000 grant to FeedMore, Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization, to provide meals to 2,000 families during the holiday season. The meals will be distributed to neighbors throughout greater Richmond next month through FeedMore’s Mobile Pantry, which takes nutritious meals to neighborhoods with limited access to healthy and affordable food.
This Thanksgiving, Kroger Mid-Atlantic has teamed up with FeedMore, Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization, to cover the cost of a special Thanksgiving meal for nearly 900 seniors and homebound neighbors in FeedMore’s Meals on Wheels program. Kroger is also making the week of Thanksgiving extra special for FeedMore’s Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers by handing out fuel gift cards.
FeedMore will celebrate a very special milestone for its Meals on Wheels program on Monday – 50 years of delivering healthy meals and companionship to homebound neighbors in Central Virginia. To commemorate this golden anniversary, Mayor Levar Stoney will be delivering meals to Meals on Wheels recipients in the 9th District on the southside of Richmond.
FeedMore, Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization, will once again sponsor the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP or Kids Cafe program) to provide snacks and healthy meals to children and teens at afterschool programs and community centers throughout greater Richmond and the Tri-cities.
FeedMore, Central Virginia’s core hunger-relief organization, announced that it was recently awarded a grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to support its fresh produce program. The funds will be used to increase FeedMore’s ability to access, transport and store fresh produce and provide fruits and vegetables for Central Virginians who struggle with hunger.
FeedMore announced that Central Virginia residents generated a total of $103,833.76 through Walmart’s “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign to fight hunger in Central Virginia. The nationwide campaign, which raised more than $19.8 million to support Feeding America and its network of food banks, encouraged people to take action against hunger and help families in need through simple acts of support online, in-store purchases and donations.
